Smile Design!!. What is it?

Smile... Because everything starts with a smile

Those who project self-confidence often have a brilliant smile and aren’t afraid to show it. Having white, well shaped and aligned teeth can go a long way towards reflecting that confidence on your face. on the other hand those who don’t have good teeth often don’t show them when smiling and tend to hide behind a shy face than those who are proud of their smile.

How a smile can be designed?

In cosmetic Dentistry there is different techniques to shape, sculpt, and make your smile more beautiful. by taking in consideration the patient's age, skin, lips, gum and all the tissues surrounding the teeth, we can make the perfect and specific smile for the patient,

With a few simple steps, you can have a smile you feel great about.

And treatment may be more affordable than you think.

the followings are the most common and best choices for making a new smile:

  • E max & Zirconia Crowns

  • Veneers

  • Lumineers

  • Dental whitening

E max & Zirconia Crowns

Crowns are recommended to cover teeth that are damaged, broken or worn down. In some cases where your existing teeth are abnormally shaped or you are unhappy with the general appearance of them they can be recommended for a smile makeover. Crowns can be sculptured to match your existing teeth, close gaps (bridge work) or create a new smile makeover. They have a longer life span when compared to other dental treatments such as Veneers & Lumineers. This makes them not only a cheap alternative but a better investment. Dental crowns can be aesthetically fabricated to reflect “light” like natural teeth, and mimic the shape, size and color of the surrounding teeth. Your natural tooth underneath is preserved, protecting your natural tooth and gums for a longer period of time. A dental crown is a permanent fixture in your mouth and many of our patients have had the same dental crown(s) for 10-15 years.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers, also known as "dental porcelain laminates," are wafer-thin shells that bond to teeth. Most traditional veneers require that your dentist grind down sensitive tooth structure for a good fit. They are permanent, custom-shaped and require the removal of roughly 0.5 mm of the original tooth to allow space for the new veneer.

veneers can change the shape, color, and the contour of the tooth to achieve a fascinating smile makeover,

on the other hand, veneers has it's limitations when it comes to misaligned or crowded teeth, or when there is some excessive occlusion forces, which could shorten the durability of it, or cause it to ship off or even fracture, for that it is not recommended for this type of cases.

Lumineers – a new type of dental veneer

Lumineers laminates are highly thin (0.2mm); roughly the thickness of a contact-lens.

The original tooth structure doesn't need to be shaped for placement and if desired, Lumineers can be removed. It is claimed that Lumineers resist micro-leakage and micro-cracking more so than traditional porcelain veneers. Unlike other porcelain veneers, you won't need to wear temporary veneers until the Lumineers are created. Lumineers are expected to last just as long as traditional porcelain veneers and normally cost more than traditional dental Veneers.

In addition to being made of thin, porous porcelain, both products offer permanent whitening with no staining or discoloration. Both Lumineers and traditional Veneers can strengthen, lengthen and shape your teeth. They can be used to repair minor tooth imperfections, are stain proof, natural in appearance, and highly resilient. This procedure does not hurt, it is fast, and in most cases, affordable.

Teeth Whitening (bleaching)

Over the time teeth become stained for many reasons (coffee, tea, smoking) and even aging can discolor teeth. teeth whitening has the power to remove the stain that accumulated over the time, and restore the original white natural color of the teeth.

There is two type of bleaching: one is applied in the dental office which can give a fast result

and the other can be achieved at home.

The bleach used for in-office (chair side) whitening is stronger than the bleach found in

at-home whitening kits.

and the decision of which is better for your teeth should be made by your dentist after evaluation pros and cons of both types,

Keep in mind that by teeth whitening not everyone’s teeth can become movie-star white, whitening can only restore the original natural color of the teeth which might not be the white shade you're looking for. How do I care for my dental crown or veneers?

The crown or veneer itself cannot decay, but decay can start where the edge of the crown joins the tooth. Therefore, to prevent decay affecting the crown, it is important to keep this area just as clean as you would your natural teeth. Brushing two times a day with a fluoride toothpaste would be enough for preventing decay.

Crowns, Veneers, or Lumineers?

the perfect choice usually depends on evaluating the teeth, gum, and jaw relationship

it's always recommended to ask your dentist which is best for your teeth,
